Data dataherstel

Symptomen

*Maakt uw harde schijf ongewone geluiden, zet uw Mac of harde schijf dan meteen uit en neem contact op met ons.

Wat te doen?

Allereerst
1. 'Ziet' Disk Utility de drive?
2. Maakt de drive geluid?
3. Heeft u de drive of Mac gebruikt sinds het ontstaan van deze problemen?

Vervolgens
1. Schakel de unit uit.
2. Leg de harde schijf op een veilige plek.
3. Bel voor het maken van een afspraak.

Niet doen!
1. Maak geen gebruik van herstelsoftware.
2. Blijf uw Mac of harde schijf niet gebruiken.
3. Open en inspecteer uw drive niet.

Nota bene

Denk er aan: des te meer pogingen u doet om de drive zelf te repareren, des te moeilijker wordt het voor ons om uw data terug te halen.

Data Recovery

In recent day we seem to be getting more and more data decovery projects. This on it's own wouldn't be a problem, but with some data loss comes regret, regret that the data wasn't backed up.

Fortunately we are able to recovery data from crashed hard drives and Macs but it's never a good time to loose that important file, or worse, pictures!

With everything being on your Macs hard drive, it's always best to back up your data. Contact us and we will put in place a system that can backup your data. Then you will never have to 'recover' it again!

MacRepair vs MacJunky

In 2008 MacRepair & Project started proceeding to sue MacJunky for trademark infringement. Needless to say we put up a fight and won on every count that they put forward to the court.

The main body of the complaint was that they accused MacJunky of using their trade name/mark (Mac Repair) without authorization. Our case was that the words 'Mac' & 'Repair' although trademarks of that company, are too specific to repairing Macs and the complaint should not be upheld.

Also while the court case was being prepared they accused MacJunky of all sorts of 'other' infringements that were way too outrageous to mention.

How do I get into "Firewire" mode?

Press and hold the [T] key while booting.

Zap PRAM

Press and hold the [Apple]+[ALT]+[P]+[R] while booting.

This will generally help with some minor problems, but I feel it's more of a placebo than anything major.

"Flashing folder" icon on screen

There could be many reasons why you are getting this. It could be that the drive has lost it's headers and needs to be fixed or that the Mac can not see the drive for various reasons. The best thing to do first is to Zap the PRAM, then try to start up via your start-up disks to see if you can see the internal drive. If that does not work, contact us.

Start-up sound but no video.

This is usually a problem with the internal battery. There could be a more serious problem but the first thing to do is to check the battery.

---

Clicking sounds from Mac or hard drive

Problems with clicking is due to the drive having problems reading and usually it more serious that you expect. The best thing to do is to switch off the Mac and do not turn it back on until you have contacted a Mac engineer.
